Toujours ensemble (TE) is pleased to announce the appointment of François Guy as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. This marks a new chapter for TE, as Mr. Guy succeeds Ms. Sigrid Ellefsen, who served as Chair since 2018.
Mr. Guy has been a dedicated member of TE since 2007, serving successively as a Director and Vice Chair. His commitment to the organization’s mission, which is to help young people in Verdun academically, economically, and socially by providing them with a variety of after-school activities, educational and financial supports, has been a driving force behind his involvement. Mrs. Ellefsen, the outgoing Chair, expressed her confidence in passing on the torch: “The organization is in good hands, with a solid board and a dedicated core team. As a father of three, François believes in the importance of developing the full potential of young people. I know the team can count on his support in fulfilling TE’s mission,” said Ms. Ellefsen.
A Decisive Contribution
Since joining Toujours ensemble in 2011 and assuming the role of Chair in the fall of 2018, Ms. Ellefsen has been a driving force behind the organization’s growth. She played a key role in the development and implementation of a strategic plan adopted by the Board of Directors in 2012, which led to the expansion of the Sac à dos program from a pilot project to an established academic enrichment program for elementary school students.
Under Ms. Ellefsen’s leadership, Toujours ensemble has continued to diversify its Board of Directors, ensuring that its members represent the various facets of the community, business, and education sectors. This approach has enabled TE to have a global and informed vision of its mission to empower young people.
An Experienced Director
A graduate of McGill University with a degree in business administration, François Guy has worked in the financial services sector since 1993, bringing a broad range of experience and skills to the role, as well as an active commitment to his community. Indeed, philanthropy and community service are values close to his heart. “I am thrilled to continue my involvement with TE. As Chair, my goal is to help the organization continue to make a difference in our community. Together, we can help the young people of Verdun not only to dream, but to have a real shot at achieving them and realizing their full potential,” said Mr. Guy.
As part of this transition, Toujours ensemble presented its audited financial results and activity report for 2022-2023 at its annual general meeting on June 20th at the Centre Carolyn Hayes Renaud. Detailed information is available online at https://toujoursensemble.org/rapport-annuel/.*
